Unipart Expert Practices (UEP) is the consultancy arm of the UK's largest privetely-owned logistics and manufacturing group, Unipart.
Unipart is a leading exponent of Lean Manufacturing and uses its 20 years of experience to provide consultancy support in Lean and Supply Chain to a wide range of organisations, in both the public and private sector.
Although UEP consultants are experts in their field, most have come from a line management background and were unaccustomed to providing consultancy advice to external clients. UEP commissioned Silver Pebble to design a development programme to improve their ability to interact with clients and enhance their effectiveness.
Atos Consulting is one of the UK’s major management consultancies and part of Atos Origin, Europe’s largest IT Services company.
A programme of acquisitions, followed by a major recruitment drive, meant that the consulting population had received varying amounts of training and development. The company needed to standardise consultancy methodologies and harmonise their values to underline its new identity.
Working together with an internal team, Silver Pebble consultants have been co-delivering an intensive programme of training for 200+ new and existing consultants since 2006. The five-day residential programme reinforces the key consulting methodologies through a case study and includes guest presentations from senior directors to embed the core values.
Successful completion of the training programme allows delegates to receive a portable qualification, awarded by the Chartered Management Institute. The Certificate in Management Consulting Essentials is the UK's only post-graduate Certificate-level qualification in the Management Consultancy field.
HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) was formed in 2004 by the merger of the Inland Revenue and HM Customs and Excise. It employs 98,000 people across the UK and is responsible for collecting £350 billion of revenue each year.
As part of a Government drive to improve performance and efficiency, HMRC adopted Lean principles in 2007 and set up an team of over 100 internal experts, working alongside external consultants, to implement the approach across the department.
The internal Lean consultancy needed advice and training to develop their consultancy skills and to improve their ability to work in partnership with the external consultants. Silver Pebble designed a development programme which was run jointly with HMRC's own internal training group, minimising the cost and ensuring that the capability remained within the Department.
